Oh!! So happy to see Valsa included—thank you so much, Jen 🤎 Back in Brazil, our flag colors were ruined by the extreme right, so I completely understand how you feel about red right now. Luckily, we can still bring this to the table without fear of being misunderstood—just a pop of color to brighten our days! Thank you again 🌟
And you know what the best part is? Anitta—the most famous (and often controversial) Brazilian singer—was the one who reclaimed our pride in our flag and colors. It was incredible! These are tough times, but we have to keep fighting back.
I’m a HUGE fan of red - no matter how horrifically it’s currently been appropriated. I love the sentiment behind this post - the more of us who wear red, the more we can normalize the color just being CHIC and powerful !
I *really* needed this post after yesterday. Because we aren’t just reclaiming the color red but we are also going to spend the next 4 years (and hopefully only 4 years) reclaiming what it looks like to be a voter and fighter for the things we care about. And you know what color I associate with fighting? Red…
YESS — red is my favorite color for clothing & in my home decor 🍅✨ all these recs are fabulous. will be putting the almina concept wool sweater on my wishlist ;)
I’ve always been drawn to red, but only dabbled with a red lip until I bought a red merino hoodie from Cos and a pair of red heat tech socks from Uniqlo this year. I’ve been loving throwing them on. You know what? I’m putting on some red today, damn it. Reclaiming it!
I’ve been strangely obsessed with red for a long time (a surprise given my more preppy sensibility- I’m talking fire engine red not Nantucket red). I think it’s such a strong, sexy, joyful color, and I plan to wear a lot of it over the next four years as an act of self-care AND f-you! I loved your recs and will be online shopping today as another form of self-care / distraction from the executive orders (eek, can we handle this again?). Here’s hoping our systems and values are as strong as the color red!
I am also online shopping and breaking my low buy promise because your girl needs some retail therapy today after all the madness of the last couple of days!! YIKES.

Fascinating to hear that other countries have experienced this (I mean nothing is new!) so thanks for sharing.

This gives me hope on a day I needed it

Love a red lip and a red nail, but other than that, I hardly dabble either. But I’m inspired now!! Wear your red!!
