As someone watching from across the pond, I'm so sorry. Know that we're all (well, most of us) completely horrified and sickened by the result of this election. I can't imagine what it must be like to be living in it.

I know, it's so sad to know that the world is watching this too. I know nowhere is perfect, but we've really lowered the standard over here, haha. I'm thankful to live in NYC and amongst likeminded people, but the energy and vibes are just so shattered right now. I believe in a time for grieving and rage, but I hope we're able to turn that into action and hope soon!

Thank you for writing this. Internalized misogyny has to be named as well. Sadly, a handful of women close to me voted for Trump, one of them saying that the Vice President "sounds stupid when she talks." (!!!!!!!) So many women have internalized the belief that women shouldn't be in positions of power and if they seek it, something must be wrong with them.

My friend was saying last night that there were a lot of protests during the last Trump era like what happened with the George Floyd murder and the huge uprising against that injustice. His hope is that during this period the same thing will happen and it will ignite more social movements to create change. Small compensation but it’s something to hold onto on this depressing day.

I hope so!! Although I will say those didn't seem to move the needle all too much, so I'm also hoping for some more on the ground and local action - getting more involved in community, running for smaller offices, making small changes at the local level to safeguard ourselves and our neighbors. And hopefully, eventually, that will bubble up and make this whole living nightmare fall by the wayside forever!!

Thank you, as always, for your writing. Today sucks, that’s for sure. I will try to come up with a more eloquent comment later, but for now, I just want to say thank you.

This week sucks. The words have been so hard, but if there's one thing we learned from living this before, it does get easier. UGH.
