Welcome to mom friend!
I’m a new-ish mom, Brooklynite, elder millennial, and “fashion person” here to share my thoughts and opinions on everything from style, design, motherhood, politics, vibes, and all that goes along with it. It’s a little meandering, perhaps at times a little chaotic, and a bit all over the place - but hey, isn’t that just life?
This started, actually, as a way to work through my feelings on motherhood and becoming a mom in an arguably very difficult time - between ridiculous expectations when it comes to child rearing and The Internet hovering over telling you you’re doing it wrong and selling you something to fix it, I was feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and little bit like my brain was atrophying as I stared into the abyss of raising a baby and feeling like my sense of self was wiped out. I created this as a space to work through those feelings, get my creative side back up and running again, and, hopefully, find some community along the way. So once a week you’ll hear about something on my mind - maybe motherhood related, maybe about a trend or style, maybe about nothing at all except some conflicting thoughts coursing through my brain - followed by a list of things I’m coveting, buying, loving, reading, doing, and eating that week. You’ll probably get some hot takes on contact naps and unsponsored product recs (and also notes on what you don’t need), or you just might read about a day in my life just trying to get by.
But, because both “mom” and “fashion” are the two worlds in which my brain space lives, you’ll also get a lot of fashion. Which has become surprisingly fun to write about, so sorry in advance if this publication starts to lean that way. I don’t think I realized until starting this how much I enjoyed it - when something becomes your job and pays your rent, it’s easy to get numb to it. This page has helped relight my curiosity and interest around the industry as a whole, and I love being able to write about it and be in it at the same time. This might take the form of trend reports, shopping round ups, or musings about the business side of the industry.
I am so happy to have you here and as part of this community!
Please consider subscribing, sharing, or donating. This is a side project that I love doing but is reader supported. Anything you can give (including feedback!) is welcome and appreciated, so I can keep doing the hard work of spending my 5-7 am spilling my guts on the internet.
