A very quick round up of all the lovely things I have my eye on this week:
Nerd alert!! I am very old school when it comes to calendars and planning, and each year I get the same Appointed Yearly Task Planner. They just released their 2025 editions, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this Oxford Blue one. Writing stuff down, for me, is just the only way to remember the gajillion tasks, appointments, schedules, meetings, grocery lists, reminders, and to do’s, and I would be lost without my planner
I’ve been on the hunt for a new daily bag that can hold all my shit, but since I’m no longer carrying around 12 diapers, a pack of wipes, extra formula and bottles, and a change of clothes for the baby, I am free to downsize slightly from my very large but very awesome Bags in Progress tote. I still have to haul around my laptop, my planner (see above), a book (for long subway rides), my wallet, and a water bottle, so I need something sturdy and durable with a good amount of space - but I also want it to look nice and sleek and not out of place if I find myself out to dinner (unlikely, but it could happen! I used to be social! I can be social again!). Everyone keeps raving about The Essential Bucket from Madewell, which is a contender, but I am leaning more towards The Shopper Tote in Soft Grain for myself, probably in the Dark Carob.
.
A few years ago, while visiting home, my parents pulled down a bunch of boxes from the attic containing old tee shirts from concerts, travel, and life events that they felt worthy of keeping. They were so fun to go through and hear stories about, and they have claimed a really special place in both my closet and heart. Now, I look at any merch through a lens of what would be worth passing on to my daughter. Various concerts have made the cut, as have some museums and places, but I am also after some Harris merch that I can store for her, as a reminder of this time in history and hopefully who will end up being our first female president. I also love that the dems collab with fashion designers each election cycle, so I think this Willy Chavarria x Kamala Harris sweatshirt will have to be the one. (PS are you registered to vote?! Check here. And if you aren’t yet sure who you are planning to vote for, plan to abstain from voting, or plan to vote for anyone other than Harris, slide into my DM’s because I would love to chat!)
Ever since I deep a deep dive on chocolate brown a couple weeks back, I have been obsessed with the idea of adding more into my wardrobe, which currently leans very heavy into black, white, navy, and grey. I love this Espresso color in the Alex Mill Jo Shirt, which is a lovely oversized classic cotton poplin option.
.
And in the same vein, I really, really love this black and navy striped poplin shirt from Almina Concept. I am perpetually on the hunt for the best oversized shirt, and I think this one looks nearly perfect.
One of our biggest challenges since having a baby has been managing our schedules. Not that she has a lot of activities, but getting into a routine of work, drop offs, pick ups, blocking in time for ourselves, and keeping track of the never ending list of things to do, it’s been a perpetual thorn in my side. I have my eyes on this oversized monthly wall calendar to hang up where we all can see in order to keep our days front and center. I love the bright colors and bold design that feels more modern and fun than your traditional paper wall calendar.
I am still on the hunt for the perfect oversized blazer, and have cycled through a few now that I’ve found on Poshmark. So far, nothing has quite fit the bill - either too tight through the arms, too long, or too fitted through the waist. But I recently stumbled across this one from Sessun and am super interested to try it out to see how it fits - it looks perfectly oversized with just a touch of French coolness that I love.
I am also on the hunt for a really good navy v neck. I am desperate for Almina Concept to make this one in navy (I have the crewneck iteration of this and absolutely love it), but this babaa one is really great too. I’m generally not one to just drop $300 on a sweater, but for something that is great quality, fits well, and is a forever staple like a navy v, I could be convinced.
We are slowly piecing our new apartment together, so of course I am using that as an excuse to update our bedding and linen situation. I have my eye on these terracotta striped linen sheets from Quince, which are still neutral enough to not make a huge statement but have a little something to brighten up what has always been a very beige bedroom.
In my quest for flattering jeans, I think I dipped a little too far into the long and baggy category. I found myself wanting to wear something a little more fitted and cropped to feel more put together with an oversize sweater recently, and realized I just no longer owned any. So, I have my eye on these Alex Mill high rise, or these Madewell Perfect Vintage jeans.
happy shopping!
